Still here....

I'm still alive... just not much to post right now.  I'll have more pictures sometime next week.

It's great to have Jason home, and we're just enjoying spending time with each other.  The Army has been pretty generous with time off, so we've been able to spend plenty of time together. :)

Homecoming pictures

I promised some pictures from Jason's homecoming... so here you go.  They had a live video feed of the plane landing, so here's his plane.

Here's Jason (in the middle) getting off the plane from the live video feed.  He was just finishing up waving at the camera, but that was the first time I saw him on US ground, so I knew he was here! :)

I'm holding my sign up and hoping that Jason sees it because I had NO CLUE where he was.  There were about 400 soldiers looking for their families.  It was definitely easier to stay in the bleachers and let him find me because I'm not dressed the same like all the soldiers were!

So there you have it... he's home, and we're glad!  Thanks to everyone who supported us and prayed while he was gone!

He's FINALLY home...

After a VERY long day yesterday, Jason is finally home after 14 months in Iraq!  I got to base at 945, his plane landed at McChord at about 1025, so we got to watch the live video feed of them getting off the plane, and then it was the waiting game again for awhile longer before we actually got to see the guys.  The ceremony was supposed to start around 1145, but I think it was like 1230 by the time the guys walked through the door... and there was 2 flights' worth of soldiers instead of one, so the gym was PACKED and HOT.  I had NO clue which one was Jason because they all look the same in their uniforms when they came in, and as it turns out, he was clear at the other end of the gym, so it was a good thing I had a sign, because I just held the sign up and he found me.  Then we had the saga of having to get all the guys together and head on over to where their bags were, get their bags, WAIT FOR A STUPID SAFETY BRIEFING, and THEN go home!  Safety briefing aka don't drink and drive, you are considered high risk because you haven't been in the civilian world for awhile, be careful driving, don't beat your wife... etc etc... same stuff they heard before they got here, so it was pretty much pointless to stand around and wait for.  

By the time we left base, it was around 2 pm.  We went home, Jason saw the apartment, took a shower and whatnot, and then we headed to Verizon to cancel his plan and then over to AT&T to add him to my plan.  He has a new phone number... so if you had it before, you'll need to get the new one. ;)

Then we went to dinner with my parents at Famous Dave's and everyone that I work with was pretty excited to see Jason... since I talk about him constantly, and some of them knew him from before he left!  Then we just relaxed for the rest of the day because the jet lag finally kicked in for Jason during dinner... lol.  11 pm and we were in bed... and then we woke up at 7 this morning!!!  So much for sleeping in!

I'll post some pictures later... I haven't downloaded the few I have to my computer, and my family has all the rest of them since I was a bit preoccupied with hugging and whatnot. ;)
