Bear Picture... 4 months already!

Well, another month has come and gone, so here is the bear shot for being 4 months old today!  We upgraded bears, so this is also the transition picture from the old bear to the new one. :) Ruston's great grandmother (Patsy Kemp) had this big old bear hanging around from last Valentine's Day, so she thought we could get more use out of it, and she's right!

I also scored a great deal on an exersaucer that looks brand new... yay for craigslist!!  Ruston got to use it for the first time this morning while I was getting ready for work, and I was actually able to take a shower AND blow dry my hair! :)  BIG HIT!!

And as you can see in the bottom of the last picture, Taco was pretty curious about it all too.

Fun sitting up

More pictures of Ruston in his Bumbo, although it's sad when Taco poses better than Ruston. :)
The staredown... they are both curious about each other and stare at each other often.
The "man of the year" sitting in my recliner... chunky kid.
Yesterday I decided to rearrange the living room, so Ruston sat in the recliner watching while I moved everything.  He thought it was funny when I moved the recliner with him in it.
He's sooooo close to sitting up completely on his own these days, and gets pretty angry if he's not sitting or standing.
Today we played on the floor, and he was quite proud of himself.

And just to show the chunk of his legs, I tried to get a couple pictures of the rolls.  No, the pink blanket is not his... lol, but it works nicely on the floor.

Pneumonia

Make sure you check the other post I posted today too...
One of the many things that happened since Christmas is that Ruston got pneumonia... yes, I feel like we have spent our fair share of time and money at the hospital!!!  The doctors first said it was croup, then he didn't get better, so I took him back and they gave him breathing treatments (seen below), which still didn't seem to be kicking it quick enough, so I took him back AGAIN (to the ER this time because everything else was closed), and they said he had the early stages of pneumonia.  I had that mommy feeling that that was probably what he had from day one... just glad I was persistent, even if it was a hassle!!
So here he is getting a breathing treatment.  He cried (or rather screamed) through most of them, but there were a couple he was happy through, and one in the hospital that he slept through!
This is the little station I made next to my recliner for him... the cool mist humidifier and the nebulizer for his treatments.  I thought it was pretty neat that the doctor's office gave us a panda bear nebulizer... much better than a boring one for adults. :)
One more picture of his treatments.  He had to get them 4 times a day for awhile, and then we can give them to him still as we feel he needs them, although I haven't given him one since his follow-up appointment when they told me we didn't have to do them all the time anymore.
He's a much happier baby now that he's healthy again.  We're really hoping 2010 will have little or no trips to the hospital!!!

Playing Catch Up Again

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in about a month... oops!  I will try to be better!!!  A lot has happened in this last month, so there will be a couple of posts instead of just one huge post... so stay tuned for more after this one!
Anyway, some of the pictures in this post are pretty random, but I think it's interesting to see how Ruston's face shape has progressed over the last month... his cheeks weren't TOO chubby in this picture:
I forgot to post this one in the Christmas post, so I will post it now.  Erica sent me a couple of Christmas outfits along with this hat.  Poor little man has such a big head that I had to squeeze it into the hat for the picture, so he was somewhat uncomfortable... but I HAD to do it. :)  I'm sure he'll hate me later... our little reindeer.
Ruston's newest favorite thing is to sit up.  He's not happy if he's not up and seeing the world around him, so I found this Bumbo seat on craigslist for $15, and he sits in it quite regularly.
Taco also had to come up and see what Ruston was doing on the floor...

Ruston also helps me cook dinner sometimes... ie, he sits in his Bumbo on the countertop so he can see what's going on.
Ruston's other favorite thing to do right now it chew... chew chew chew... on anything and everything he can get to his mouth, as well as drool.  This kid knows how to drool like the best of them!!

Yes, look at those chubby cheeks!  And that picture was from the beginning of January... so just wait until I post the pictures from the past week or so... whew!
