Last minute concert!

Monday night Jason and I went to the Wilson County Fair in Lebanon.  This fair just happens to be the largest fair in Tennessee, and on opening night, all 95 counties of TN were represented in the parking lot, as well as 18 different states!  Yeah, it's well known and LARGE.  Anyway, we found out Darryl Worley was going to be playing, so we decided to try to get there to see him.  Admission to the fair was $7 each... and that was all we had to pay!!!  We got seats in the 6th row, which was REALLY good, and had a very enjoyable experience.

Some of these pictures are out of order, but at the end of the show, we walked up to right below the stage, and that's what these REALLY close pictures are from.



The picture below shows how far away we were... it wasn't bad at all... and really, the camera makes it look farther than it was.
Darryl Worley is also a HUGE supporter of the American troops and has several popular songs about the wars ("Have You Forgotten", "I Just Came Back from a War").  During his last song he brought out these troops, and they saluted at the end of the song.  Notice Darryl Worley in the middle clapping for them too... that was awesome to see.
At the end, Jason decided he wanted to try to get his CD autographed by Darryl.  Well, I didn't think we'd be able to, but Darryl Worley's brother and sister-in-law were in charge of selling the CDs, and told us if we waited until the crowds died down, he would come out and we could meet him.  So we waited... and we have an autographed CD and this picture. :)  He's a tall guy!  Too bad you can't see how pregnant I really am in this picture lol.
Anyway, we had a good time, and I'm glad we went, even though I was pretty sore the next day because the chairs weren't exactly the most comfortable!

They do get along... part 2

I managed to catch these two actually getting along!  Although these two laying together like this didn't like much longer than about 30 minutes, it was 30 minutes longer than I have ever seen before or since!

Even when Tucker decided to put his leg on Taco, Taco didn't bother to even move!  I was impressed by that...
And just for kicks, this is where Tucker can be found quite a bit of the time... right below either of our recliners.  He's even been closed in once or twice because he didn't get out in time.  By the way, look at Tucker's huge feet!!
Does this look comfortable to you?  I didn't think so... he seems to think it is because he lays this way quite a bit too!

Baby Mountain

Alright... I had yet another appointment yesterday, thus beginning my weekly appointments until he's born.  Everything is still looking good, and I'm not dilated at all, which is fine by me since I'm not due for another 4.5 weeks.  I took this picture today so people can see the mountain of a baby I have inside me.  I'm officially 35 weeks and 5 days in this picture.  He has definitely dropped, and I'm definitely feeling that!!  So close and yet so far away!

Other Adventures

Amidst all these baby updates, I thought I would give a little rundown of some of the things Jason has been able to do.  Mostly he's been working A LOT at Aldi (a small grocery store) and Bass Pro as well, but he's had moments off that he's been able to enjoy.  We live pretty close to the Caney Fork River, which is known for its trout fishing, so Jason often goes down there for a few hours.  Several weeks ago, here was his catch.  The biggest one isn't a trout, but I can't remember what he said it was... it had teeth, that's all I remember!
Jason has also gotten several toys in order to keep our land from overgrowing us!  He got a weedeater, a riding lawn mower (no picture of that, but it was used)...
... and a chainsaw.  Jason's grandparents have 40 acres, and decided to get their woods thinned, so the loggers came out and took quite a few trees, leaving the tops that were too small for them to keep.  Jason decided to take this opportunity to cut up some of the tops in order to have firewood this winter, since we're planning to solely use our wood stove to heat the house.  Jason and Josh had some good brother bonding time haha.
This doesn't look like the brightest idea, but you can tell they were trying to pull some limb from somewhere... I believe Josh almost fell during this episode.
Jason eventually let Josh have a try at the chainsaw.
We (me, Shannon, Garrett, Gavin, Mammer, and Papa Wayne) watched from their porch... a good safe distance and in the shade!  Garrett seemed pretty interested in it, as you can see here.  Eventually he went down with the boys and attempted to assist them in any way he knew how; mostly by telling them which limb they should chop next.

... yeah, this is the same piece of wood he was trying to lift.  I think it needs a bit more chopping!
So there ya go... Jason has gotten to do some manly things while I've been nesting and nesting and nesting some more!  I will soon have pictures of the baby's room completely finished... well, all except a few things that will go on the walls.  Right now, the walls seem pretty bare!

Baby bump and update

Ok, I've had lots of requests for pictures of the Kemp bump, so I thought I would add some pictures when I updated from my doc appointment.  This picture was at 31 weeks... I wasn't exactly thrilled to take a picture at the time!

The next pictures are from today... I'll be 34 weeks this weekend.  He's definitely gotten bigger!
Sorry for the bad picture... I had to set the camera on the counter and use the timer to do it... apparently the flash reflected off the counter... oops!

Anyway, so there are some pictures of my large self. :)  Now for the doc update.

Wednesday I went back to the doc after one week since my blood pressure was high at my last appointment.  I asked what it was, and it was 134/88 when it's usually like 120/70 or so... so it was a little bit high.  Anyway, it was back to normal (124/78), so no more worries there for now.  I think it was high because I had just gotten into the office when I was called back, and usually I have time to rest in the waiting room before going back and getting my BP taken.  Seems like such a small thing, but I'm pretty sure that was the difference.  I also lost 1 pound since last week, but my stomach is measuring huge. :)  Surprise surprise!  Oh yeah, and baby's heartbeat was 141, so still just right where it should be.  I think that was all the update I got at the appointment... I go back in 13 days (I wanted to switch to Tuesday instead of Wednesday because it works better with my work schedule), and then I'll be every week after that... yikes!  

We also begin our birth classes on the 18th, with the last class being on September 22nd... hopefully we make it through all the classes since that's pretty darn close to our due date!!  Jason is just oh-so-excited about the birthing classes, but I informed him he has no choice. :)

Lastly, I put the glider and ottoman together last night, so all the furniture we need is in the baby's room... now I just need to get all of his clothes sorted and put away... THEN I will take a picture of his room all done! :)

Lost Blog sites

Apparently when I switched over to our new blog address, all the blog sites I was following on the right side disappeared.  SO... if you were on my blog previously, I would LOVE to get your addresses back so I can add them again.  Unfortunately, since they were all linked, I can't remember the actual addresses of them, and I'm sure my pregnant brain isn't helping that!

Another Baby Update

Well, little Mr. Kemp has decided that he doesn't want me to have much lung space.  I've had a more difficult time breathing in the last week or so, and today I learned why.  I had another doctor's appointment (routine one), and learned that he is now measuring at 37 weeks, and I am 32 weeks and 5 days, so he's big (duh).  I also gained 5 pounds in the last two weeks... yikes!  His heartbeat is still strong, but my blood pressure was a bit higher than normal today (I think it's due to the fact that I can't breathe as well, so walking is much more of a chore lately), so they're seeing me in one week next instead of two weeks.  Wahoo! lol

I also got the changing table put together yesterday, and bought the travel system today too.  It's all coming together... now I just need to put his clothes in the dresser, and organize the room... and wait for the glider and ottoman to get there... then I THINK we MIGHT be ready, at least minimally!  We're getting there!!!
