He wasn't even unhappy about getting the box over his head.
Finally he figured out how to crawl into the box. I guess I need to buy more boxes.
Since becoming mobile, this is often the view I have of Ruston.
Or this view... constantly trying to get SOMEWHERE.
Daddy and Ruston still have a good time just chilling in the chair. I can never seem to get Ruston to hold still, and Jason has a way of tucking Ruston into the chair with him and he'll just sit there... for a fairly decent amount of time!
Here's another attempt at catching Ruston moving. At this point, he uses his toes to push himself forward, but he gets where he's trying to go!
This is just a cute picture I had to add. I LOVE babies in overalls!
And lastly, I could have put this in a completely different post, but decided to just tag it on the end of this one. Over Easter weekend, Jason's grandfather went into the hospital, and was not doing very well, so as many family members as possible were trying to get to the hospital to see him. This is Jason with his brother and three of his cousins. From left to right: Josh, Jennie, Kimber, Joanie, and Jason. It was nice to get to hang out with the twins and Kimber because we don't get to do that often, even under the circumstances it was. However, we hope to be able to keep the communication up with them!!
He got some pretty good loot, if I do say so myself, including so edible puffs, a frog stuffed animal, and a train toy.
But really he seemed to be more interested in the basket than anything else. I think the basket it awesome because it's a hat too (you can take the hat part off of the rest of the basket).
Here is Ruston playing with his toys. We also read the story of Easter, which is a little "thick book" Ruston got too. :)
Oh yeah, and supposedly those are 12 months clothes, but they seem a bit small compared to the rest of the clothes he wears! :)
Ruston and I just enjoyed the sun. This was Ruston's first full afternoon outside, and you better believe I slathered him in sunscreen!!!
This is my favorite picture of the day. He had a good time.
The breeze picked up a bit, so we put his jacket on, but you can see daddy was paying attention to us a lot. ;)
I'm a tad sad that the sun got in the way of this picture because it's a really good picture otherwise. Anyone know how to edit it to make it look better??
See, even babies blink in pictures sometimes... but he was all sorts of talkative and moving around a ton, so I was happy to get the pictures I did!
Unfortunately, the fish didn't cooperate. I think Jason fed a few fish by them stealing the bait, but he didn't actually catch any that day. Better luck next time!!
At his 6 month appointment, he was 21.4 pounds (95%), 27 inches (75%), and his head circumference was 18 inches (95%). We have a short chubby kid... but still pretty proportionate, and I'm sure once he gets moving well he'll even out! He was a complete trooper when it came to his shots... didn't even notice the first one, and screamed for the last two, but as soon as I picked him up, he stopped screaming. :)
His first taste of food... which I believe was bananas. So far the only thing he's not a fan of was the beef and beef gravy baby food, which I can't really blame him for... the texture is horrendous! Don't worry, although he is getting baby food, it's mostly because I had coupons for them... I am working on keeping the jars and making my own baby foods, as well as attempting to let him feed himself some, although he hasn't gotten anything into his mouth on his own yet!
Hard to see, but there are bananas all over my face...
Cheerios are fun too, although I have yet to get them in my mouth on my own. All mommy or daddy has to do is say "Cheerio?" and hold it in front of me, and I open my mouth wide with excitement, although this one got stuck...
I think this is some applesauce.
I just realized I haven't had the camera out with many of the veggies, but he has had bananas, sweet peas, frozen peas, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes (courtesy of Nanny Cindy), prunes, applesauce, pears, and combos of those with rice cereal as well.

And he was pretty impressed with his beefy little self!
Ruston also LOVES the Reese's package. Really, he loves anything that crinkles, but if given his crinkly book or the Reese's, he always goes for the Reese's. Don't worry, we supervise him appropriately around such plastic packages! :)
Ruston is a huge HUGE fan of bathtime. He usually has a washcloth that he's chewing on too, but apparently in these pictures it is MIA.
(Please excuse the dirty tub... we don't use it for anything but his baths, although I need to clean it since my mom is coming to visit!)
Lastly, there was a day when I was in the bedroom doing something, and I set Ruston on the bed... then I looked at the bed and realized I really should make it, so I made it around him. :) He liked being in mommy and daddy's bed since that's a pretty rare occasion!
