Hollywood

So in case anyone is completely out of the loop, 3 Hollywood stars have died within the week.  Ed McMahon died at 86 the other day, and Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died today.  Now what really gets me, is that there are so many people so distraught over the death of Michael Jackson, but not so much about Farrah.  Yes, I understand that MJ died of a sudden heart attack, but Farrah's story is so much more sad since she had cancer and had a long painful road before she died... plus, she was just much more loved in my eyes than MJ.  I can't say I was ever really a big fan of MJ... especially with all the negative media with him and children.  I don't get over that type of stuff very quickly.

Anyway, that is my random rant for the day.  I have decided that God is attempting to kill Hollywood little by little.

Happy Father's Day!

I thought since it was Father's Day today, I'd do a quick little tribute to the fathers in my life.  Numero uno- my dad.  If you're not afraid of reading mushy stuff, then read on.  I think I would kind of consider myself a daddy's girl at times.  Although I did not like the farm (and am still not a big fan of working on it), my dad and the farm have taught me a lot of things... responsibility being a huge one of them.  My dad has also been a great teacher of integrity and honesty in every aspect of his life... he's pretty darn good at standing up for what he believes is true and right.  This has always been something that I have admired.  I don't think I could have picked a better dad if I had a choice, but I know God did wonderfully in picking him for me!  I love you Dad!

And secondly, my hubby.  Yes, he is a dad in my eyes, although the little one is still percolating.  Jason has vowed to be the best dad ever, and the dad that he never had, and I know he will not fall short of what he says.  Jason is great at putting his mind to something and then getting it done no matter what he has to do to get there (within the law, of course). ;)  Jason has taught me so many things within the three and a half years of knowing him, and I can't even begin to describe how much I admire and love this man!  Plus, he puts up with my weird perks, and all those pregnant hormones. ;)  I love you honey!
And just because I love this picture... here's the two of them together (and my mom, of course).  I guess my dad decided he needed to remind Jason of the power of his fist. :)  Love you all and Happy Father's Day!!

Painting...

I'm VERY glad we didn't have to paint every room of this house when we moved in!  I'm in the process of painting the baby's room, and that's enough for me.  Here is a picture I took with my phone.  I got the top part painted, and tomorrow I will be on to doing the trim work and also taping off the part for the border that will go between the green and the brown.  I'm also glad this room was already brown, because that's half the work already done for me!  This is a pretty close depiction of the actual green color, I think...  oh yeah, and this is the first time I've really ever painted a room, so it's all new to me.  I'd say I'm doing pretty well!
