Pumpkin Patch!!!

So I have decided that I'm going to just post new posts, and then go back and add in older ones, or else I will continue to be 1 to 2 months behind forever!
Last weekend Ruston and I went to the pumpkin patch with the Barnabi's (Silas, Kaycee, and Alyvia). Alyvia is 8 months old, so it's fun to get to compare and do things with them, especially since Jason went to high school with Silas and Kaycee. After attempting to find 3 different patches with supposedly existed and were not there, we finally found Pumpkin Hill. First, we took a hay ride to the pumpkins.
Ruston wasn't too sure about the pokey straw, and he mostly observed the entire time we were on the ride.

Once we got to the patch, Ruston again observed... all those orange things surrounding him. He really wasn't too sure what to think!
We finally got a smile out of him when we placed him in front of the straw bales that were painted with jack-o-lantern faces. I have a couple more pictures on my phone that I'll have to figure out how to add in here too.

Here is Ruston with his little pumpkin... just his size. He finally didn't mind touching it and holding it, and even chewed on the stem a little.
When we got back to the main area, they had farmer and pumpkin cut-outs, so we just HAD to put the kids in there! Ruston as the farmer, Alyvia as the pumpkin.
Alyvia was mostly trying to climb THROUGH the hole, but it was funny for us.

It was a good fun time and I'm glad we got to go. Jason and I might take Ruston to a different one this weekend to have a family outing since Jason was working last weekend. Then maybe some pumpkin carving will happen!

Happy Halloween!

Well, Halloween has come and gone.  Our original plans were to go trick or treating with Josh, Shannon, and the boys, but they got sick, so that fell through.  Jason ended up working last night, so I took Ruston to Cindy's house to show off his costume and see Brooklyn and Angel in their costumes.  Although Ruston's outfit was extremely cute, he didn't seem too fond of it!  Here is our little angry monkey... and yes, there is a banana too.

Cindy got a couple of pictures of him not screaming, as well as pics of the girls since I forgot to bring my camera to her house.  I'll post those pictures once Cindy does. ;)  Either way, Ruston's first Halloween is in the books!  Maybe next year we'll really go trick or treating and get some candy. :)

Happy Halloween!

Last night Jason and I went over to Josh and Shannon's to take the boys trick-or-treating.  We got off to a bit of a late start, so it was dark outside, but it was still a good time.  Gavin was Darth Vader (he didn't want to wear his hat).  He seemed pretty intrigued with his bucket.
Garrett was Buzz Lightyear.  He was so excited Josh had to hold him back from running outside!  Garrett kept asking "is it Halloween yet?"  I guess he didn't realize the entire DAY was Halloween, not just when you go trick-or-treating!
I was trying to get a good picture of Garrett, but he was looking at his wings in the reflection from the glass door... oh well, you get the idea.
Here is Buzz Lightyear at his first house.  He made sure to get candy for Gavin everywhere he went too.
Jason soon became Buzz Lightyear's best friend.  The common statement was "come on Jason, let's go!"  He had to run from house to house too... walking just wasn't fast enough!
Jason took Garrett through a little haunted house that one of the houses in the neighborhood creates every year.  There is a chainsaw at the end of it that usually chases people out, but they don't do it with the little kids.  When Jason and Garrett got out of the haunted house, Jason said "well that was boring..." and Garrett just said "where's the chainsaw man?"  I think he was disappointed the chainsaw guy didn't chase him... he would have liked it.
Gavin had a great time in his stroller... he's one of the happiest babies I know... even when it's past his bedtime!
This was the best picture of both of the boys together.  Garrett's attention span was a little short by the end of the night, and he wouldn't stop to take another picture after this one.  Shannon was trying to fix Gavin's hat, but alas, you can't get boys to hold still very long!
So instead, I just took a picture of Gavin by himself.  Like I said, he's a pretty happy kid, and this was at the end of the night right before they went to bed!

It was a fun night really, and we ended up getting some candy by default too.  Garrett is only allowed to have certain kinds of candy, so Shannon made sure to fill a bag of candy for me that Garrett's not allowed to have anyway. :)
