Just another update...

Well, I haven't posted a ton of pictures lately, so I thought I would just post some pictures since they've been requested by several people. :)  Ruston and daddy do get time together sometime... allowing me to get a shower every now and then.

This swing has become one of our favorite things.  Shannon managed to find it at a consignment store for $24 and it's  usually like $150-$200 new.  The swing is in GREAT condition, and is one of the only places Ruston will sleep.
Doesn't he look cozy??  The next 2 pictures show how Ruston would prefer to sleep.  Don't worry, I was about 2 feet away from him the entire time he was sleeping like this.

I just wanted to include this next picture because he looks like he's thinking.
Ruston will suck on whatever finger happens to make it in his mouth.  You've seen one with his thumb... this time it was his pointer finger.
The rest of these were taken this morning.  I managed to get somewhat of a smile while he was on the floor.

Later, he fell asleep while nursing... as you can tell by the milk on his cheek. :)
In the last few days, Ruston has decided he likes to sit up so he can see the world.  He's also starting to goo and coo more during happy times.

Family Visits

This month has been the month of family visitors.  First we had my parents here for a week.  Unfortunately, my dad was sick most of his stay, so he didn't want to get too close to Ruston, and apparently I didn't take any pictures of my mom and Ruston with my camera.  I think she has some on her camera though.
I did, however, get this picture.  My dad was tormenting poor Taco, and managed to get him to hold still long enough to put his glasses on him... ie, he held Taco's head while the glasses were there... but it was pretty comical.
I also got this wonderful picture.  Tucker believes the futon is his space, so anytime they tried to sit on it, he had to go sit there with them.  He's actually being somewhat nice in this picture with my mom though, and isn't crawling all over her yet!
After my parents left, my aunt and uncle, Ann and Norm, came and took us all out to lunch.  I didn't any pictures while they were here though... but at least they got to see our house and meet Ruston too.
Finally, my grandparents (Grammie and Papa Kenny), and my aunt, uncle, and cousins (the Gottschalks) came to visit yesterday.  Below is the Gottschalk bunch... they sure have a lot of energy, and poor Avery was begging to leave yesterday afternoon after all the adult conversation and lack of toys for her to play with.
Ruston and his great-grandparents are below.  They were lucky to get a decent picture with Ruston because most of yesterday he looked like....
...this.  He was NOT a happy camper yesterday for some reason... I think his tummy was bothering him again because I've changed some pretty huge diapers today!
That is the extent of our family visits, well, our out of state family anyway.  Hopefully some more will make the trek this way eventually. :)

Growing like a weed... a stinky weed

I took Ruston to the doctor today for his checkup... he's 3 weeks old already!  I can't believe it's already been three weeks... yikes!

Anyway, here are the stats:
Weight: 9 lbs, 3.5 ounces  He gained an entire pound in the last two weeks!
Length: 21.25 inches  He also grew an inch in the last two weeks!
Head:  14.5 inches  I didn't have any previous head measurement, but everything seems fine.

The doctor was VERY impressed with how quickly Ruston is growing... she asked me what I was feeding him, and stated "whatever it is, it's working."  I told her I was breastfeeding, and she was impressed that I wasn't even supplementing with anything else and he was still growing that fast.  I guess I just know how to grow them!  Ruston's like a weed, and a stinky one with all the diapers he goes through!
